To demonstrate her solidarity with undocumented students in higher education, activist Dolores Huerta speaks at a 2011 “DREAM Act” rally at the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund (MALDEF), Los Angeles, CA. The DREAM Act (or the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act) is a legislative bill to grant undocumented youth, who meet eligibility criteria, the opportunity to join the military, attend college and have a path toward citizenship. To date, the DREAM Act has not been passed. An article in this volume discusses the rhetorical strategies of Dolores Huerta. Cover photo used with permission of Aurora Solis.
